And then it went “viral”

On Sunday last I shared a few words at Masses in Kilmovee and Urlaur around Mayo’s defeat in the All-Ireland replay.  After Mass a man told me he found the words helpful.  When I came home I decided to try to remember them and put them on my blog.  I left it at that.  A few hours later I was contacted by the sports website www.balls.ie who had picked up on the piece and asked if it could be shared on their site.  I was happy for that to happen.

Later on i began to get calls and texts about this.  I looked at the stats on my own blog and where normally I might have 100-150 views in a day, the stats were heading towards 2000 on Sunday (2500+ on Monday) and www.balls.ie told me they had over 60,000 views yesterday.  It’s amazing to think how quickly something can be shared.  Amazing, awesome and humbling.
