CARRACASTLE COMMUNITY CHILDCARE

Castle KidzCarracastle Community Childcare will re-open Wed. 30th Aug. for Afterschool service & Mon. 4th Sept. 9am to 12 noon for our Pre-school service. From Sept. 4th there will also be a Breakfast Club opening from 7.30am to 9am. For more information please contact 0871206069. UPDATE COMPUTER SKILLS

Strengthen your skills for gaining employment. Join our Computer Studies & Office Skills course. QQI Levels 4/5 accredited.  If you have an additional support need and are registered with the Department of Social Protection you could be entitled to free training. OPPORTUNITY TO UPSKILL

Swinford VTOS is currently seeking applicants for the Computer and Business course which is due to commence in September 2017. The course which leads to QQI/FETAC awards at levels 4 and 5 provides unemployed adults with the opportunity of returning to education, updating their skills and improving their employment prospects.

FIRST SATURDAY DEVOTIONS

The Five First Saturdays Devotion is being hosted in Knock on Saturday 2nd September. Starts at 11.00am in the Old Parish Church concluding with Holy Mass at 12.00 noon  and Enrollment of the free brown scapulars.  Everyone is invited to attend in honour of the 100th year anniversary of the Fatima apparitions.

Ceili in the Cottage – TUES 29TH AUG. Special tribute to the Daly family of Kilmovee. Music, dancing and singing. Open to all. All ages welcome. €5 includes refreshments.

Autumn Lecture No 1 – WED 13th SEPT Have Ye No Homes To Go To?  The history of the Irish pub by Kevin Martin.  Thatch Cottage. Doors open at 7.30 pm and lecture starts at 8pm. Lecture, Q&A and refreshments €5.

Mayo Culture Night – FRI 22nd SEPT – FREE EVENT. Irish Language Night in the Thatch with Mayo poets Sean Lysaght and Terry Mc Donagh. Also with Noirin Gannon and music, song and storytelling.  Refreshments provided.

Brian will give a talk on memories of yesterday and will promote his new book Summer of 63.  Doors open at 7.30 pm and lecture starts at 8pm. Lecture, Q&A and refreshments €5.

Autumn Lecture No 3 Wednesday 18th Oct – Dr Celeste Ray – Ireland’s Holy Wells. Supported by National Geographic and Maynooth University, American visiting academic Dr Ray is on a fact finding mission to document the Holy Wells of Mayo.  Doors open at 7.30 pm and lecture starts at 8pm. Lecture, Q&A and refreshments €5.
